No-Ownership Theory Of The Self |

|
The no-ownership, or no subject, theory of the self is the philosophical doctrine that mental events do not belong to the mental subject who undergoes them. Nothing can be owned by someone unless its ownership can be transferred to another by being given or sold to them, for example. But mental events cannot be transferred in this manner. Therefore, they are not owned by the mental subject who undergoes them. AJ
