Interactionists, in philosophy, are dualists, holding that the mental is not physical and that the physical is not mental. They further hold that the mental and physical causally interact. Bodily damage, which is physical and not mental, causes pain, which is mental and not physical. And pain, which is mental and not physical, causes aversion behaviour, which is physical and not mental. The non-physical mental and the non-mental physical causally influence each other. AJ
