Biogenesis |

|
The theory of biogenesis, in the life sciences, is the opposite of abiogenesis. It states that all living organisms are descended from other living organisms. Thus life comes from pre-existing life and is continuous rather than being spontaneously generated from non-living material. The concept of biogenesis is one of the central laws of modern biology. RB
